How to eat like a local

Updated: Sep 20, 2019

Wandering along the "Jalan Raya" in Lovina, Buleleng, I discovered the best little warung serving freshly homemade Laklak. Laklak is a traditional Balinese cake, made from rice flour, round and flat in shape with a diameter of 3-5 cm, and the thickness is around 4-5 mm. One side is hard and the other side is soft. In general, there are two colors of Laklak cake, its white and light green. The most popular are green the colour is from the Pandan leaves, that also give them a distinctive aroma. Laklak is usually served with grated coconut sprinkled on the surface of the snack, which is soft and then doused with a slightly thick solution of brown sugar, then wrapped in banana leaves. Absolutely delicious especially with a freshly brewed cup of " Kopi Bali". Bespoke Bali will help you discover many local delights.
