I am always looking for new places to eat, and new dishes to try.
At the moment I am eating like crazy, and thank goodness I live in a wonderful place like Bali, where there is a huge selection of local, foreign and eclectic cuisine available.
I recently found this great little restaurant, called “The Pantry”, which is in an old Dutch colonial villa, circa 1907, in Singaraja city.
The setting is like stepping back in time, is this lovely old building.
The owner is very passionate about her food and her cooking, and I would call the cuisine here fusion, a mix of Indonesian and international food.
Dishes available range from Lobster burgers to Peking duck, a Javanese style BBQ pork, subtly spicy, with beautiful flavours bursting out. Freshly cooked fish, scrumptious homemade cakes and pastries.
Even though you are in the city centre here, it is very peaceful, with gardens surrounding you and a gentle breeze blowing.
If you find yourself in Singaraja city, and wanting to eat something yummy and a little different, this is the place to go.
It is open Monday to Friday from 1 P.M. Till 6.30 P.M. Other times available by request.
Google "The Pantry, Singaraja" for directions and contact details.
